From April 2010, BRFST will support partial funding for foreign travel (subject to approval of the Board on a case-to-case basis), for presentation of research papers arising out of BRFST funded projects that have been accepted for presentation in a foreign conference. This support will be available only for project staff working in the project and registered for PhD and will be subject to scrutiny and approval by the Board. Funding will be provided only after the student undertakes the journey. Please note that BRFST does not support registration fees & other expenses for foreign conferences.








Important Information



  • Only those project staff of BRFST-NFP funded projects who have registered for PhD programme are eligible to apply.
  • This financial assistance is available only for presentation of results obtained under BRFST-NFP supported projects.
  • This application has to be made minimum TWO months in advance of the date of commencement of the meeting.
  • Assistance will be provided ONLY for air travel (air ticket). BRFST does not support registration fees & other local travel expenses.
  • Once the financial support is sanctioned, BRFST will provide a letter of assurance, which will be honored once the applicant submits the copies of ticket, boarding pass and other documents after completing the journey.


Documents to be submitted along with this application



  • CV of the applicant highlighting the research work carried out and publications (if any).
  • Recommendation letter from Principle Investigator of the NFP project.
  • Forwarding letter from Head of the Department/Institution.
  • Copy of abstract/paper.
  • Copy of the acceptance letter.
  • Details of the conference along with copy of conference brochure.
  • Copy of document showing round trip air fare from applicant’s city to the airport closest to the city of the conference.

Applicant is advised to send a forward (unsigned) copy of all the above documents by email to nfp.projects@gmail.com. The signed copy may be sent by post.
