The NFP was set up with the aim of promoting research and development, leading to self sufficiency in the areas of Fusion Science and Technology in India. The NFP aims at involving research groups in the Industry, National Research/Academic Institutes as well as Industry in our country in order to acheive this self sufficienly in these areas of research.
Through NFP, various important areas of fusion science & technology R&D would be identified, research proposals raised from the participating institutions and would be carried out, funded by research grants from the NFP.
NFP, will also conduct periodic workshops, conferences and meetings to promote interaction between the various groups involved in the NFP funded projects.
